About Me

I've worked in various fine art mediums all my life. Even as a little girl I looked at things differently than most people, almost like the world is my craft store and everything that is no longer used can be made into something beautiful. My jewelry defiantly has come a long way from tying string in fancy knots over plain rocks or daisy chain necklaces, but it still inspires me just the same. I was born in Nelson BC and raised on beautiful Vancouver Island BC, Canada. I am a mom of 3 very talented and artsy kids, I like to think that my kids enjoyed the fact that their mom could find something for them to do even when there was not a crayon or coloring book in the house. The name Spirited Gems came to me after working for a very talented jewelry artist, she taught me allot about the healing properties of gemstones and how one simple stone from our earth could give so much energy. I have also worked in direct sales on the side, I found that direct sales was a more personal approach to working for another company. I enjoyed meeting new people and bringing products to people that I personally believed in. However I did find after some time that all commercial companies will lower their quality at some point to make a dollar and I could no longer stand by them. The idea for direct sales or home shows for my jewelry just makes sense to me, I am combining 2 things I love to do and will never have to worry about quality because all the items are hand crafted by me.
