Jewelry is still my passion however I find after years of making it ,that I have started to lose some of my artistic flare. The main reason for this is that people are always asking me to make jewelry that looks like the necklace they found in this store or "can I make something that looks like this picture". It is somewhat a challenge and I do enjoy being able to duplicate a jewelry piece, but for me the true art is the pieces I have designed and made myself. As we head closer to the year 2012 ( and no i am not a doomsday believer) The planet is becoming more and more precious to me and I find myself looking at what used to be thrown in the trash without a second thought a piece that can be upcycled in some way. Over the past few years recycling has become somewhat a "fad" and that is great, especially with the young people that feel that they can make a difference. Sadly "Fads" do go out of style and I already see that slowly happening. We are surrounded by what most people would see as "junk". Everything is made to be easy everything is packaged for great convenience and then thrown away. If we look at our past some of the most simple things have become precious or worth something years later. So although I love to work with semiprecious and precious stones and metal, I feel that my jewelry is not making the statement I would like it to. I am now working on a new line of jewelry that I feel will keep me inspired for years to come, and sadly I don't see me running out of supplies any time soon. But just maybe, one day the supplies I use will finally not be thrown out every day and your piece of one of a kind jewelry will be a blast from our junky past. I love what i do, creating pieces of art is my life and my passion. I am going to put my all into this line of jewelry.
